Carmen Meeker, MPAS, PA-C, is a board-certified Physician Assistant dedicated to providing high-quality, comprehensive dermatologic care to patients of all ages. She is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and brings over 10 years of experience in dermatology.
She earned her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science, graduating cum laude, and her Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Harding University. Upon graduation, she completed extensive hands-on training in dermatology alongside board-certified dermatologists and Mohs surgeons prior to independently seeing patients.
Carmen began her dermatology career in Little Rock, Arkansas, where she practiced from 2014 to 2020. During this time, she worked closely with dermatologic surgeons, including assisting with surgical care and performing closures for Mohs procedures, gaining valuable experience in both medical and surgical dermatology.
In 2020, she relocated to Iowa, where she has spent the past six years providing comprehensive medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatologic care. She has a special interest in the management and treatment of acne and eczema and is known for her patient-centered approach that emphasizes education, prevention, and long-term skin health. Having personally dealt with skin conditions, she understands firsthand the significant physical and emotional impact dermatologic concerns can have on an individual. Through her personal and professional experiences, she has developed a thoughtful, inclusive approach to care and values connecting with patients from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and ages. She is conversationally bilingual in English and Spanish and is able to conduct portions of patient visits in Spanish when appropriate.
Carmen is committed to staying current with advances in dermatology and regularly participates in continuing medical education. She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants.
Originally from Arkansas, Carmen is excited to return to the South. She looks forward to caring for patients in the community, being closer to family, and exploring all that Houston has to offer. Outside of the clinic, she enjoys staying active, re-watching her favorite television shows, reading, and spending time with her daughter and dog.
