Advanced Laser Treatment for Redness, Visible Veins, Pigmentation, and Skin Rejuvenation
Persistent facial redness, visible blood vessels, brown spots, and uneven skin tone can be difficult to conceal and even harder to address with skincare alone. Because these concerns can originate from different structures and depths within the skin, effective laser treatment requires technology that can be customized to what is causing the discoloration.
At Elite Dermatology & Plastic Surgery, we offer Cutera excel® V+ exclusively at our Vintage Park location. This advanced laser platform combines two complementary wavelengths to target a wide range of vascular and pigmented concerns while also offering options for overall skin revitalization.
Our experienced medical and aesthetic providers customize excel® V+ treatments based on your skin, the concern being treated, and your individual goals.
What Is Cutera excel® V+?
Cutera excel® V+ is an advanced laser system designed to treat a broad range of vascular and benign pigmented skin concerns. The platform combines two laser wavelengths—532 nm and 1064 nm Nd:YAG—allowing your provider to target concerns at different depths within the skin.
The 532 nm wavelength is particularly useful for more superficial vascular and pigmented concerns, while the 1064 nm wavelength can reach deeper vascular structures and can be used across a broader range of skin types.
Rather than relying on a single laser setting for every concern, excel® V+ allows treatment to be customized according to the color, size, depth, and location of the targeted vessels or pigmentation.
What Can excel® V+ Treat?
The versatility of excel® V+ allows our providers to address several categories of skin concerns using one customizable platform.
Facial Redness and Rosacea
excel® V+ can target visible superficial blood vessels that contribute to persistent redness and vascular changes associated with rosacea. Treatment may improve:
- Rosacea-related redness
- Diffuse facial redness
- Visible facial veins
- Broken capillaries
- Telangiectasia
Because rosacea varies from patient to patient, your provider will evaluate your skin and symptoms to determine whether laser treatment is appropriate.
Spider Veins
The dual wavelengths available with excel® V+ allow treatment to be adjusted according to the size and depth of visible blood vessels.
Selected spider veins and visible leg veins may be treated. Larger or more complex veins may require another form of evaluation or treatment.
Brown Spots and Benign Pigmentation
excel® V+ can target selected benign pigmented concerns associated with sun exposure and aging, including:
- Age spots
- Sun spots
- Freckles
- Areas of uneven pigmentation
- Certain benign pigmented lesions
Not every brown or pigmented lesion should be treated cosmetically. New, changing, unusual, or suspicious lesions should be medically evaluated before laser treatment.
Other Vascular Concerns
excel® V+ may also be used for selected vascular concerns such as angiomas, port-wine stains, and poikiloderma. Treatment depends on the type, depth, extent, and location of the vascular condition.
Laser Genesis™ With excel® V+
excel® V+ can also deliver Cutera’s Laser Genesis™ treatment for patients interested in improving overall skin quality rather than targeting a specific visible vessel or area of pigmentation.
Laser Genesis™ uses gentle laser energy to heat deeper layers of the skin and support collagen remodeling. Depending on your concerns, treatment may improve:
- Fine lines
- Uneven skin tone
- Diffuse redness
- Enlarged-looking pores
- Uneven texture
- Certain scars
- Overall skin quality
Laser Genesis™ is typically performed as a series of treatments, with improvements developing gradually as the skin responds.
What to Expect During an excel® V+ Treatment
Before treatment, your provider will evaluate the treatment area and select the appropriate wavelength and settings for your skin and concern. Protective eyewear is worn during the procedure.
As laser energy is delivered, you may feel brief warmth or a snapping sensation against the skin. excel® V+ incorporates cooling technology designed to help protect the skin and improve comfort.
Appointment length varies depending on the size and number of areas being treated.
Recovery and Results After excel® V+
Recovery and results depend on the condition being treated, wavelength used, and intensity of treatment. Temporary redness, swelling, warmth, tenderness, or bruising can occur. Some vascular treatments may cause temporary purpura, or purple discoloration resembling a bruise, while treated pigmented spots may initially darken before gradually flaking or fading.
The timeline for improvement also varies by concern. Treated vessels may gradually fade following the procedure, while pigmented spots can become less noticeable as the targeted pigment clears. Laser Genesis™ results tend to develop more gradually as collagen remodeling occurs and skin quality improves over time.
Some concerns may respond to a limited number of treatments, while others require a series of sessions. Vascular conditions such as rosacea may also require periodic maintenance because laser treatment can address existing visible vessels but cannot prevent new vascular changes from developing.
Your provider will explain what to expect based on your treatment and provide individualized aftercare instructions, including guidance about sun protection.

FAQs About Cutera excel® V+
Is excel® V+ Safe?
excel® V+ is designed to deliver controlled laser energy to targeted structures within the skin while minimizing unnecessary exposure to surrounding tissue. As with any laser treatment, side effects and complications are possible, including redness, swelling, bruising, purpura, blistering, burns, scarring, and pigmentation changes.
Your provider will evaluate your skin type, medical history, medications, recent sun exposure, and other factors before recommending treatment.
Can excel® V+ Treat Rosacea?
Yes. excel® V+ can treat visible vascular features associated with rosacea, including persistent redness and small facial vessels. It does not cure the underlying condition, and new redness or vessels can develop over time. Some patients may therefore benefit from ongoing dermatologic care in addition to cosmetic laser treatment.
Can excel® V+ Treat Spider Veins?
Yes. excel® V+ can treat selected spider veins and visible blood vessels on the face and body. Whether laser treatment is appropriate depends on the vessel's size, depth, location, and underlying cause.
Can excel® V+ Remove Brown Spots?
excel® V+ can target certain benign pigmented lesions, including sun spots, age spots, and freckles. However, not every pigmented lesion should be treated with a cosmetic laser. New, changing, unusual, or medically concerning lesions should be evaluated before treatment.
How Many excel® V+ Treatments Will I Need?
The number of treatments depends on the concern, its severity, and how your skin responds. Some vascular or pigmented concerns may improve with a limited number of sessions, while more extensive redness, vascular conditions, or skin rejuvenation goals may require a series of treatments.
Is There Downtime After excel® V+?
Downtime varies according to the treatment performed. Some patients experience temporary redness or swelling and return quickly to normal activities. More intensive vascular or pigment treatments may cause bruising, purpura, or darkening of treated pigment that takes longer to resolve. Your provider will explain the recovery expected for your specific treatment.
