Tara Braun, MD, serves patients at Elite Dermatology in Vintage Park and River Oaks providing exceptional dermatologic care. She treats patients of all ages and offers services in medical, cosmetic, and surgical dermatology. Her special interests include acne, eczema, psoriasis, skin cancer screenings and treatment, dermal fillers, Dysport, Botox, platelet-rich plasma, and much more.
Though she is originally from Houston, Dr. Braun moved several times during her childhood and thus she has also had the pleasure of living in Colorado, Maryland, and Florida. Dr. Braun attended the University of Florida where she was chosen as a Lombardi Scholar, a full scholarship awarded to 8 students that funded numerous experiences including studying and volunteering in Mexico, South Africa, and Peru. She also spent a semester in Rome, Italy studying digital photography, creative writing, and art history. She was recognized as an Anderson Scholar with Highest Distinction, was inducted into the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa Honors Society, and graduated Cum Laude.
For her medical training, Dr. Braun moved back to Houston where she excelled in medical school and residency at Baylor College of Medicine. During medical school, she performed a year-long research fellowship at Texas Children’s Hospital. She has authored over 80 medical publications and presentations and has presented her work at local, national, and international meetings. She also committed time to volunteering at Homes Clinic for underserved patients and Camp for All for children with challenging illnesses.
Dr. Braun is friendly, easygoing, and feels grateful every day for the opportunity to provide dermatologic care to her patients. She regularly attends academic meetings and workshops to stay up-to-date with the latest advances in cosmetic, surgical, and medical dermatologic treatment. She is an active member of the Houston Dermatological Society, Texas Dermatological Society, American Academy of Dermatology, Women’s Dermatologic Society, and American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery.
When not at work, Dr. Braun loves road-tripping around Texas and visiting her family in Colorado and Florida. She also enjoys photography, yoga and meditation, and going to the gym.
